Harborne Carnival Returns! 28th June 2009

This will be the 11th year of the carnival and it growing from strength to strength with more people turning out each year. Last year saw a record number or people attending which goes to show it is one of the largest street carnivals in the country. The weather was fantastic which encouraged lots of people with families to come and enjoy the day’s activities. Once again the high street will have a variety of Stalls, rides, demonstrations much more so come along and enjoy the festivities on the day.

The Carnival's objectives are to develop good family and community spirit and if possible to raise funds for local good causes. Last year saw the first ‘Fun Run’ along the length of the High Street it was so popular with all who entered that it will be repeated again this year. Contact Nick Price on 464 6042 for details on how to get involved.

The Carnival theme will be ‘Western’ so get ready to dress up in your ‘Stetson and Cowboy’ outfits! For more details about the carnival and how to get involved, contact carnival chairman and organiser Paul Burgess on 07971476312

Went to carnival today and I have to say it was really disappointing!! Full of rough necks, beer swigging louts!! Nearly got knocked off my feet by a police officer running up to a fight. Been to all the carnivals in the past but I have to say I will never go again. Only 3 floats too!! Rubbish!!
